The NVQ is a work-based qualification which recognises the skills and knowledge a person needs to do a job. The candidate needs to demonstrate and prove their competency in their chosen role or career path

|Setting up and using transportable cutting and shaping machines in the workplace|
An NVQ is proof of your competence in your chosen trade enabling you to apply for a Trade CSCS card which is mandatory for working on most construction sites.

You will need to have competence in chosen trade access to a computer and enough dedicated time to finish the course
Between 2 and 4 visits to your place of work by an appointed accredited assessor spread over 3 to six months depending on your input and availability.
At a pre-arranged time a NOCN approved assessor will visit your place of work for an initial assessment and if successful you will be inducted and enrolled onto the course.(Deposit will be required) Your job knowledge will be profiled and assessed and any training needs identified. Your assessor will collect evidence of your knowledge and skills through questioning, observations, testimonies, videos, and photographs. You will also be advice on how to collect your evidence.
